Terms of Service

The terms on which you may use sportzal.ai and the Sportzal application.

1. About these terms

These terms form an agreement between you and Sportzal Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company no. 16853933, registered office 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF, United Kingdom.

They apply when you use sportzal.ai or the Sportzal application. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. Contact: hello@sportzal.ai.

2. Beta status

Sportzal is currently available as an invitation-only beta. That means:

  • features may change, break, or be withdrawn without notice;
  • rep counting, range-of-motion measurement and form feedback are under active development and will not always be accurate;
  • we may reset data or accounts where necessary during development, though we will try to warn you first; and
  • access is at our discretion and may be withdrawn.

We would appreciate your feedback. If you send us feedback, suggestions or bug reports, you allow us to use them to improve Sportzal without obligation or payment to you.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Sportzal, and at least 18 to enter into these terms on your own behalf. If you are between 16 and 18 you need the consent of a parent or guardian.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@sportzal.ai if you think someone else has access to it. Please give us accurate information — particularly about injuries and physical limitations, since the Scheduler uses that to programme around them.

5. Licence and acceptable use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Sportzal for your own training. You may not:

  • copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or create derivative works from the app, except to the extent the law expressly permits;
  • resell, sublicense, rent or commercially exploit the service, or use it to deliver coaching services to third parties, without our written agreement;
  • scrape, bulk-extract or systematically copy the exercise library or any other content;
  • attempt to defeat security controls, probe our infrastructure, or interfere with other users; or
  • use Sportzal unlawfully, or to film other people without their knowledge and consent.

6. Camera use

The Vision Coach needs access to your device camera. Analysis runs on your device and the camera feed is not streamed to us — see our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for where you point the camera. Please respect the rules of your gym and the privacy of the people around you; many gyms restrict filming.

7. Health and safety

This section matters, so we have repeated it plainly:

  • Sportzal is not a medical device and gives no medical advice.
  • Its plans and cues are advisory. You decide what to lift and when to stop.
  • Automated form feedback can be wrong, and absence of a warning does not mean your form was safe.
  • Resistance training carries inherent risk of injury. You accept that risk.
  • Consult a qualified professional before starting a new programme, and stop and seek advice if you feel pain, dizziness or breathlessness.

8. Intellectual property

Sportzal, the Sportzal name and logo, the application, the Scheduler and Vision Coach systems, the exercise library and all associated content are owned by Sportzal Ltd or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.

Content you supply — your profile, session notes and any media you choose to upload — remains yours. You grant us a licence to host and process it so we can provide the service.

9. Pricing

Access during the invitation-only beta is provided free of charge. If we introduce paid plans we will tell you in advance and you will be able to decide whether to continue. We will never start charging an existing account without your explicit agreement.

10. Availability

We aim to keep Sportzal available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend access for maintenance, security or development reasons.

11. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, and because Sportzal is currently supplied free of charge as a beta, the service is provided “as is” and we exclude all warranties to the fullest extent the law permits. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss arising from your reliance on automated training or form feedback. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to £100 or the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months, whichever is greater.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Sportzal and close your account at any time by writing to hello@sportzal.ai. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we reasonably suspect misuse, or if we discontinue the beta. On termination your licence ends and we will handle your data as set out in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use Sportzal after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
